UConn recently announced it received over 48,000 applications but the acceptance rate for the new class is still unknown.

About the University of Connecticut
University of Connecticut (UConn) is a public land-grant research university located in Storrs, Connecticut.
According to Wikipedia, the University of Connecticut was established in 1881 – it was initially the Storrs Agricultural School; the school had a name in recognition of two brothers who donated land for the school. In 1893, the school became a land-grant college and by 1939, the name was changed to the University of Connecticut.
Over the next ten years, nursing, social work and graduate programs were established, while the law and pharmacy schools were incorporated into the university. In the 1960s, UConn Health was established for new medical and dental schools.
UConn has a classification known as the “R1: Doctoral University, which means that the school is one of the schools that has a very high dependence on research.

UConn is expecting about 4,100 new students to enrol at Storrs and has also announced that about 1,673 first-year students are anticipated at its regional (Stamford, Avery Point, Hartford, and Waterbury) campuses.
The acceptance rate at UConn is estimated at 56% according to U.S. News & World Report. UConn’s acceptance rate is quite selective and it’s lower than the national average for colleges in the United States.

According to U.S. News & World Report, UConn is more selective, with an acceptance rate of 55%, on average, the applicants who end up getting admitted to UConn had SAT scores between 1170 and 1390, or ACT scores between 27 and 32.
However, a quarter of all the admitted students scored above these ranges and a quarter below the aforementioned ranges. The application deadline is January 15, and the UConn application fee is $80.
