Application

First-year students are to pay a $50 application fee.

When you submit the common application, you will be required to pay the application fee before you can proceed.

Official Transcript

  • Send the latest transcript. If necessary, CSU may ask for more transcripts in some cases.
  • Unless you have a full-time college education as part of your school program (eg, early college or homeschooling), transcripts for courses taken at college are not required.
  • Decisions are tentative until the school has received your final transcript which would serve as proof that you have completed your high school.
  • Military applicants and veterans are encouraged to submit a Joint Services Certificate (JST).

CSU Acceptance Rate for Transfer Students and Admission Guide

With 25.0% of the student body at CSU being transfer students, you’re not going to be alone when you transfer into the school.

The school accepts an average of 3,020 students who apply to the school via the transfer application. Therefore, CSU Fort Collins has a transfer acceptance rate of 63.83%.

If you went to a regionally accredited college or university after high school, apply for a transfer regardless of the number of transfer credits you have. You are a first-year student applicant if your only college coursework was completed during high school and before graduation.

Your submitted application will not be considered until you submit a complete application that contains all the necessary information.

$50 application fee or waiver

A $50 application fee is required to apply to CSU as part of completing the application requirements (before an admissions decision is made).

If you are unable to pay while preparing your application, you must wait for funds to be available before you apply, or request a fee waiver with appropriate documentation. You are not allowed to pay the application fee in instalments.

Fee waivers or exemptions are available and can be requested after you have completed your application.

High school transcript or GED

  • All transfer applicants with less than 30 credits at the time of application must present a high school transcript that has the date of their graduation. This is also used to meet math entry requirements and for all students applying for financial aid with less than 60 credits; a document that proves that you have graduated from high school is a federal requirement for financial aid.
  • If you have not attended high school in more than two years, you may need to contact the school district to confirm that you can be expelled. If you are having difficulty obtaining a graduate degree or equivalent, please contact your advisor to discuss options.

Official transcript for College

CSU transfer admission committee will need an official statement from each college or university you may have attended, irrespective of the type of credit, how long the credits have been, academic standing at the time the credit is earned or the amount of credit.

Math requirements

Bachelor’s students must earn at least three math credits as part of a CSU degree. The math entrance requirements are designed to ensure that transfer applicants can meet this requirement for graduation.

Test Scores (optional)

  • ACT and SAT are optional in CSU and will not be considered if not submitted, but can be useful in composition and math if you are not taking a college transfer composition or math course. The ACT code at CSU is 0504 and SAT/College Board code is 4075. Results from the test agency to CSU take 2-3 weeks.
  • AP, IB, and CLEP scores may qualify for transfer credits after you have been accepted and official scores have been sent to CSU; these results are not taken into account when making admission decisions.

Academic explanation (optional)

CSU recommend that you write an academic explanation if you have a cumulative GPA below 2.5, D/F grades from last year, and/or irregular trends or withdrawals from your previous college work.
