What is Virginia Tech Transfer Acceptance Rate?
Each year, approximately 1,000 students transfer to Virginia Tech from community colleges, two-year colleges and four-year universities.
As a transfer student, you can choose from over 100 academic majors, participate in over 900 clubs and organizations, and have a top-notch academic and student experience.
Virginia Tech’s transfer acceptance rate is 51.14% and the process is competitive. To transfer to Virginia Tech, you must have a current GPA of at least a GPA of 2.5/4.0. In addition, you must submit standardized test results.
The most important factors in accepting Virginia Tech transfer students are:
- Transfer applicants must obtain official copies of their current and previous college transcripts and a copy of their most recent high school transcript.
- A personal statement is required with the application.
- The $60 application fee is non-refundable.

- Please note that requests for transportation for old industrial design or architecture are no longer accepted.
